7 pounds in 7 days Day 2
Woke up and was amazed to find I was not hungry despite not having any solid food. I had a couple of mugs of hot water and lemon. Eventually I decided to have some juice at lunch time. As I still had half an avocado to use up I decided to make double the amount of Super Juice and try another juice later in the day.
I made up a pint glass of the juice ns put the rest in a sealed container in the fridge. There was enough to make another two pint glasses. I couldn't drink any more juices than the ones I had prepared as I was not hungry and sucking an ice cube got rid of the need for slid food in my mouth.
The skin on my face felt smoother and dry patches of skin have gone. I feel lighter, no doubt for the number of times I have gone to the toilet. The psyllium husks have not done their job yet but that could be because of the medication I am on.
I have a headache on the top of my head and the front of my face feels heavy and my lips feel dry. To overcome this I used lip balm.
I have started reading Jason's follow up book Turbo Charge your Life in 14 Days. The first part does go over what we already know BUT what we have not put into practice until now.
I have not done any exercise apart from going backwards and forwards to the toilet. My body still feels on fire with the fibromyalgia and my limbs feel heavy. Y friend on the other hand has done 12,000 steps yesterday and 45 minutes sweating doing the gardening and she feels good too.
The juice plan has not been onerous and I have happily sat with the rest of my family whilst they have tucked into their meals. If there has been a problem time it was when my son sat next to me and ate melon and pineapple. I really wanted to have some fruit to eat but other foods have not bothered me.
7 pounds in 7 days - Day 3
I was so tired last night I had a very early night and decided to write this up today. I made enough juice for three meals at once. Well I say at once I had to sit down many times as I made the juice as the pain was bad, not helped by the fact I found it difficult retaining the ingredients more than one at a time. I think it is this that is tiring me out. I need a sleep after doing it to rest my mind and body.
I made double turbo juice and the ginger and lemon zinger. The zinger was gorgeous and I doubled the amount of ginger as I love something with a kick. I put the turbo juice in the fridge in an airtight bottle.
I decided to record my fluid intake on a spread sheet rather than in word and just list the different juices, water and hot water and lemon and then put numbers in, this makes it easier to see what juices I have not had and also how much fluid I have had during the day.
I definitely feel lighter and my hands, feet and cheeks seem thinner. Until you have lost weight you might not understand this fully. Bath time revelled less of the bumps that should not have been there.
I have not felt hungry all day and my mood is upbeat. Yes, Jason was right in saying you have to have the right mental attitude to take on this plan but even so I am amazed I do not feel hungry even watching the rest of my family tuck into burgers.
The effort needed for me to make the juices and going back and forth to the toilet has been more than enough exercise for my body to cope with but my friend is still continuing with hr 12,000 a day and feels wonderful. Her dresses are looser and her mood upbeat.
We have both started to read his next book and get mentally prepared for the next week. She had to cheat and look ahead to the eating plan as she needed to get things from the shops with I being Easter weekend.
I have enough information for shopping from the chapters in the 7 pounds in 7 days book to help me plan a shopping list. Now to get back to today's juicing.
7 pounds in 7 days - Day 4
After the nightmares this morning it took a long time to shake off the feelings of tiredness. Decided to have a lemon and ginger zinger to wake me up. The other juices I had was the turbo and the passion 4 juice. This was not made in the conventional way as I still have no blender so the whizzer used and I had to have extra banana as the yoghurt had been eaten by another family member.
All the juices were lovely and all the better for being made in advance and kept in a very cold fridge. I have had plenty of hot water and lemon and tried to do deep breathing exercises. As I cannot cope with 30 minutes at one sitting this has taken part throughout the day. Good job there was no one around or I would have been had up as a heavy breather.
The headaches have gone but the tiredness is still there. As I have said before this is probably due to my illness rather than the juice plan. My mind is alert but my arms are too heavy to put anything down on the computer.
My highs feel slimmer as does my forehead. Who would have thought that there was fat hiding under there! I have made a shopping list for tomorrow with a rough idea of the weekly menu. I am looking forward to the breakfast smoothies as the one I had at the garage a few months ago tasted delicious so a fresh homemade one should be even better.
Looking back there have been many signs that my body has been craving this massive input of juice and nutriments but I have ignored the signs. I always thought I listened to what y body wanted but I didn't dig deep enough.
Over the past few weeks I have wanted orange juice instead of tea or coffee however this was not the pure freshly squeezed sort just Asda Smart price.
I have increased the psyllium husks to every juice as despite the heavy intake of fruit and vegetables my body needs more fibre to complete the cleansing process.
Off to bed now for some much needed sleep, let's hope I do not have nightmares or if I do they can be used creatively in the morning.
7 Pounds in 7 Days - Day 5
Once again tiredness took over and I had to go to bed before I wrote my blog. Mentally I felt alert all day but I did have flare up of y fibromyalgia and my body feels on fire. I don't think this has anything to do with the juice plan just my illness manifesting itself again.
The whole idea of trying this plan was to see if :-
1) I felt better boosting my body with vitamins and nutrients
2) Could weight loss be achieved without feeling hungry and
3) Is it possibly to do this whilst having fibromyalgia without any side affects.
My body does feel lighter and my nails are defiantly stronger, not a positive side affect I had even thought of. The juicy is becoming addictive and I must admit t adding ginger to most juices as I love the taste.
The top of my chest feels as though so fat has disappeared from it and my boobs seem lighter. The top of my thighs also feel thinner.
You may have realised all my descriptions are based on touch. This is because I do not posses a full length mirror which in itself says a lot about how I felt about my body. I was fine about it as long as I did not look at it as in my minds eye I am thin.
I certainly have more mental energy from being on this plan. If my body would only be in a state where I could make use of it, it would be great I am not hungry and am sitting writing this with the family are having their breakfast and it doesn't bother me.
Oh well time to get moving a make today's juices and I have yoghurt this time!!
7 Pounds in 7 days - Day 6
I made the passion 4 juice with yoghurt today and it was wonderful. It is a smoothie I would quite happily have as a drink anytime. The fact that it was doing me good only added to the taste.
I have no headaches and have loads of mental energy even though I still ache with my fibromyalgia. I have had a few short naps and am now ready for bed. I have done some deep breathing exercises and done many trips to the loo.
Despite increasing the psyllium husks to at least 2 heaped teaspoons in ever glass of juice I still am having trouble with my bowels although there is no pain. I might have to add some laxative prescribed by my doctor and add it to one of the juices, or at least a small amount so I can enjoy the true taste of the juice without the synthetic taste of orange. I have noticed that I have some acid in my throat today this might be due to the pineapple.
I have noticed all my legs feel thinner and smother. I have no rough patches on my elbows or knees and the back of my heels. The skin the soles of my feet are also softer. As yet no one has commented they notice a difference I me physically or mentally.
I am not bored with the plan and drank my juice whist the rest of the family had Sunday dinner. I can also watch a wide variety of cookery programmes with no cravings. If anything I find myself wanting to adapt recipes so the are not so rich and my friend has said the smell of neighbours cooking fatty meals has made her feel sick.
7 Pound in 7 Days - Day 8
Sorry there was no blog yesterday but I ended up in bed after by tea as my legs were so painful. They have been like this for over three weeks. The flesh is hot but my bones feel like ice. I could not get comfy sitting, lying or standing so the only way to cope was by going to bed with lots of pillows under my back and knees.
Anyway apart for that pain I felt great. I was mentally alert and looking forward to my juice. I made double passion 4 juice and one super juice. Unfortunately only the super juice was drunk. I felt bitterly disappointed not drink to passion 4 juice but the pain made me feel sick.
Today was weighed in day. I was very apprehensive as I still had not been to the loo and was feeling blocked despite having two lots of medicine from the doctors.
I struggled to the scale and found I had lost five pounds. I thought I might have lost more than that as my legs above my knees do not look like the legs I know, I'd like to say love but that is not the case.
I hunted in vain for my tape measure but it couldn't be found and the pain in my back prevented further exploration. I had a super juice with all the supplements and plenty of hot water with lemon but I had to forego the morning workout as I retired to bed still in pain
Following the true spirit of he book I did what exercise I could which was deep breathing exercises in bed with some foot raises until the pain called a halt.
I answered all by gratitude questions but that is a routine I do morning and night anyway and have done for years and had a small glass of passion 4 juice with the supplements.
At 5.15 I rose from my bed and made a salad of iceberg lettuce (despite searching the local shops no winter or red cabbage could not be found) diced red pepper and cucumber, onion and grated carrot and grilled tuna.
I didn't give a thought to eating solid food but the rest of my family did comment. Don't get me wrong I did appreciate the food but I appreciated the juices as well.
After my bath I found the tape measure and measure myself in several sessions. Altogether from my bust, waist, hips, thighs, calves and upper arms I have lot nine inches. This as the boost I needed.
I am typing this whilst lying in bed as it is the only place I can get comfy. I don't feel hungry and I do feel satisfied mentally and physically. I have tried to read as much as my body will allow and have used the internet for motivational research not just for recreational use.
